President - a steam-powered boat built as part of a fleet in 1909 by the major carriers Fellows, Morton & Clayton Ltd at their main dock in Saltby, Birmingham. The steamer worked FLY - day & night on the canals between London and the Midlands.
Kildare - an unpowered boat known as a 'butty', pulled either by a horse or an steamer like President. Butties could carry over 25 tons, steamers only 12 tons.
